Then they threw them in the trash after a mere  lip service introducing them as bills without backing them up and lobbying to get them passed.  They did nothing to support the healthcare of their constituents.  Time for new blood like our two first term Reps, Angus and Joe who really fought for us.  Maybe a two party system might actually work better in this lopsided state."

Jan Shields is a hero because not only is she  a visionary who is trustworthy, has integrity and knowledge she has tremendous strength and courage. Sounds to good to be true? Come and meet her. What you see  is what you get with Jan. Jan is  an experienced nurse, who after seeing our  people on Maui and Neighbor  Islands not getting a fair deal when it comes to protecting their love ones with safe health care Jan realized things have to change. She stepped up to the plate,( the challenge) and wants to make a change for everyone. As you may or  may not know we nurses are advocates for safety and proper care for our patients we care for. Jan has taken this on on a  much broader, selfless scale and is interested in helping all of Maui and Neighbor Islands have the best health care for them and their families.

Everyone please vote. If you are not registered the time is now. Health care can't be ignored any longer. Jan Shields represents our future and the future of health care on Maui and the  Neighbor Islands. More and more families are being hurt by the lack of services. Let's stop accepting being 2nd rate and demand state of the art health care for all of Maui and the Neighbor Islands. Vote for Jan !

When she wins, all of Hawaii will  win.  A vote for Jan Shields is a vote for improved  health care.

Time for a change.

There are two important dates that we need to pay close attention to: 09/20/08 and 11/-4/08.
That is when we go to the polls and make a choice.
The upcoming state senate election for district 5 is different from previous elections in that it is not about Democrats and Republicans.
It is an election about the well-being of the people of Maui regardless of their political party affiliation.
For instance:
If you like to have progressive, quality healthcare for all Maui residents - vote for Jan Shields
If you like to have a hospital in South Maui – vote for Jan Shields,
If you like to have a hospital in West Maui – vote for Jan Shields,
If you like to save the taxpayers money getting all this – vote for Jan Shields.
On the other hand, if you do not care for these things and would like to keep things as they are, you should not vote for Jan Shields.

I have had the privilege of knowing  Jan Shields for over 18 years. Jan is the kind of person that you want on your team. She is honest, intelligent, passionate and is always concerned with others. Even though we live far apart, we still maintain our friendship and  I would trust her with my life. If there is anyone who will get the job done, it is her. When she sees a need, she is in all the way to get what ever needs done, done. I have seen it in action over the years I have known her. She is a great listener, and has wise council if you want her opinion. I am always amazed at her forethought and ideas. She is an inspiration, and I wish I lived in her district and could have her represent me. Finally, an honest, caring, listening representative!
